The most environmental-friendly way to drink water is drinking straight from the tap. No packaging, no long delivery channels, no supporting of questionable companies and quite cheap. But the example of Flint, Michigan, shows that there might be dangers involved with consuming water from the tap.
After changing the city's water source to save money, the local officials overlooked a critical treatment process, which exposed the community to a dangerous level of lead in their water, due to corroding pipes. Governments turned a blind eye and ordinary citizens had to step in to protect their children.
